Project of the Month - Flinders Meditation Pod Project of the Month - Flinders Meditation Pod

This gorgeous design for a meditation pod is one of our current studio projects, set to be built and installed in a stunning natural Australian landscape along Musk Creek in Flinders, Victoria. It’s floorplan design is based on the Fox 01 and includes a simple meditation space with a powder room and small kitchenette. A fold-out bed within the pod allows flexibility to convert the space into a guest bedroom when required.

The meditation space opens out to a timber deck through large glass sliding doors, immersing the user within the natural landscape around them and positioning them only a few steps from the running creek below.

Timber cladding is planned for the external walls of the pod, which will tie the pod seamlessly within the natural landscape. The pod will be placed upon a stone platform base, which will truly anchor the pod within its rugged Australian environment.

As the pod is embedded in the landscape where it will be hidden from the road, a sense of exploration is created during the journey towards the space. The design is not just about the building, but about creating an experience, which is inclusive of the journey to, the activities within, and the journey from, the pod.

Reflecting many Archiblox values, the Flinders Meditation Pod creates a sanctuary in which you can disconnect from the hustle and bustle of modern life, whilst embracing the close connection to the surrounding natural landscape. Set within such a serene environment, this pod is the perfect space to stop, reflect, and restore balance to life.
