A perfect orientation allows for morning sun to stream through the east windows and as the day progresses the large northern facade windows allows the winter sun deep penetration into the space with eaves blocking out the less favour some summer heat.
The second wing houses a parents bedroom and associated amenities to the southern edge, separated by ensuite, bathroom and laundry to the kids bedrooms and second living area. running north south, the second living space sits on the northern end facing towards a swimming pool and again capturing the northern aspect.
The main premise of the site is to open up its outdoor areas towards a more public interface to break down the private / public zones allowing a opportunities for neighbours engagement and interaction, a habit encouraged within a beachside community where young kids can grown and be part of the lives of their neighbours.
A mixture of external materials includes silver top ash shiplap timber, painted matrix board faces the public areas with more robust and cost effective colorbond cladding running along the western and southern facades interacting with the back of house areas.
